meow!
very recently, the door opened for me to join my friend bird's d&d circle's upcoming campaign that starts next january and lets just say.... im so excited omfg. we've been spending a lot of time together doing union stuff these past couple weeks and i heard a lot about their campaign that just wrapped up recently and it sounds sooooo fucking cool (i developed insane fomo ngl). i've done a lot of character writing this week, ill be playing an ex-opera singer bard who experiences the voices hehehehe (everyone pretend to be surprised). but our dm is so so cool and we've been crafting some evilness together and oughhhh i just can't wait.
but fuck ai because as a writer who uses a lot of em dashes, i hesitate every time i want to use them now. there are a lot of bigger reasons to hate ai, which trust i do, but the lack of em dashes in my life makes me sad i miss them.
anywho, fall term is over. huzzah! the temporary freedom is short lived nearly non existent from how much i need to do this break but whatever. my first clarinet jury went decent all things considered, apparently the grading isn't too harsh or my technique was sound enough that it made up for my flubs, but the panel of four gave me two As and two -As, so hell yeah. working one on one with dr. kim this term has truly been so intimidating but so good for me. its very nice to feel like im actually meaningfully improving, that im not totally washed on the clarinet lol (in my heart i don't actually believe it but yknow. the voices).
i don't know if i mentioned the history of opera class i was in this term (technically the second of two courses i missed the first one,1800-present) but it was very very interesting, i've been so operapilled as a result haha. but i love that most of my most concrete historical understanding is filtered through music history. they go hand in hand of course, you can't really study any history in isolation, but as we were talking about the campaign i found myself referencing most of the historical knowledge that i know as an extension of my music history knowledge. i love learning!! fuck ai!!!
i don't really have much to say this post. like i do but i don't. think i just wanted to stream of consciousness type out a blurb. really i just wanted to talk about my d&d character, its been my fun thing to think about so i don't have to think about the things i don't want to think about lol. will update soon hopefully. ciao!
